While winter weather has finally begun to settle in many parts of the nation, many are feeling the lingering effects of a warmer-than-normal fall and early winter. For some, such as landscapers, that's good. For others, such as allergy sufferers, that's not so great.

Dr. Asif Kahn, an allergy and immunology doctor, said that he's heard of higher-than-normal pollen counts as far as Alaska. "We're seeing people come out of the woodwork, who haven't gotten their shots in awhile."
The best way to defeat seasonal allergies is with the first freeze of the year. If your area still hasn't experienced one, don't wait around for it. Be proactive. Defend your home against allergens by changing filters, purchasing a dehumidifier or humidifier, and consistently cleaning your home or office.
