5 ways to look your best this allergy season

Don't be afraid to get close to the flowers this allergy season with these six tips.

Allergy season is a killer for so many reasons. It's impossible to pull off your hottest makeup look, cute outfit or statement necklace when you're blowing your nose every five seconds and itching your eyes. Or is it?

Implement the following beauty and health tips into your daily regiment when allergies hit to feel good all day.

  • Keep a hydrating facial wipe or two in your purse: A quick swipe daily could return moisture to your face after repeatedly blowing your nose or scratching.
  • Moisturize your face at night: Even without allergies, your face can take a beating throughout the day. Replenish youthfulness and health at night with a moisturizer that works best for your skin type.
  • Skip the lipstick for lip balms and chap sticks: Nothing is worse than cracked, dry lipstick. Allergies can be the source of a dry mouth, constant coughing or chapped lips. Use a light  tinted balm instead of a lipstick to rejuvenate lips while adding a subtle pop of color.
  • Stay hydrated: Drink water throughout the day to keep your system flushed, your skin hydrated and your thirst quenched.
  • Take care of your eyes: Reduce both puffiness and under eye circles with chilled tea bags. A gentle massage with a soft finger touch could also help, but never actually rub your eyes as this will cause more irritation and inflammation.
  • Use hypo-allergenic tissues: If you need to regularly use tissues, make sure you're not sabotaging yourself with scented or allergy-filled cloth. Use a hypo-allergenic, soft tissue instead to decrease dryness and sneezing.
