Lisa Cimperman, Clinical Dietitian at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, tells ABC News that drinking plenty of water can help you avoid unnecessary snacking. In fact, sometimes you may even mistake thirst for hunger pangs!
"Our thirst mechanism isn't that good," Cimperman told the news network. "Essentially, when we think that we're hungry, we're actually thirsty."
