Expert suggests that seasonal allergies are at their worst during autumn

While many people enjoy autumn's cool temperatures and colorful beauty, the truth is that this season can bring on debilitating symptoms for the millions of allergy sufferers throughout the United States. According to a recent article in the New York Metro, fall allergies can be even worse than spring and summer allergies, as people are exposed to a larger amount of outdoor triggers.

However, it's not just the outside irritants that folks have to worry about during autumn.

"In late fall, when the weather gets colder, people close their windows and seal up their home," explains Dr. Milo Vassallo, a pediatric and adult allergist and immunologist at the New York-based ENT & Allergy Associates. "They pull out old comforters and quilts. Then, the dust mite problem escalates, and even sensitivities to their pets worsen. As I often say, people are potentially sleeping with the enemy."

That being said, allergy sufferers can rest assured knowing that there are products they can purchase to address this very problem. Hypoallergenic mattresses, sheets and pillowcases are specially designed to prevent allergens from building up in people's beds, so if you are particularly sensitive to these triggers while you're trying to sleep, this may be the perfect solution for you.

In addition to allergy bedding, an allergen air purifier can also help improve your quality of life, as it works by eliminating contaminants directly from the air. At Allergy Be Gone, we carry these and other products that can make a huge difference around your house. Take a look at our website today to find out more.
