Rhode Island man revolutionizes fabrics for allergy sufferers

In Rhode Island, one man is helping improve the allergy relief industry by putting his career skills to work on creating textiles that are more resistant to harmful allergens.

Gary Goldberg, a resident in Barrington, Rhode Island, is a father, and third generation textile businessman. His father and grandfather were both prominent fabric-business men in the New England area, running a factory in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Goldberg has put the family business aside, though, in pursuit of a more immune-system-friendly endeavor that was inspired by his own son – a dust mite allergy sufferer.

When his son was diagnosed with the allergy, Goldberg determined that fabrics around his own home were not conducive to his son's health because the pores in the textiles were too big to keep dust and dust mites out. As a result, he began developing and creating a manufacturing process that would make fabrics whose pores were one millionth of a meter, according to the Providence Journal.

"As we were trying to grow this business we realized the retail environment is controlled by a couple of giants," Goldberg told the Providence Journal. "The giant retailers of the world are just tough."

As a result, he is now working with major distributors to hotel chains that seek hypoallergenic bedding options for their guests.

While Goldberg is servicing a large market of hotels and inns, people with seasonal allergies want to have the benefit of textiles like the ones created by Goldberg and his manufacturers. For top-of-the-line allergenic materials, contact Allergy Be Gone today.
