Make your bathroom shine with these spring cleaning tips

The cold weather may still be here, but before you know it flowers will be blooming and birds will be singing. Once again it will be time to dust the bookshelves, de-clutter the closets, wash the floors and a whole slew of other spring cleaning activities. While there are checklists all over the internet with the purpose of helping people clean their homes, those who suffer from allergies and asthma should know that there are a number of available products that can keep their symptoms at a minimum while digging up all that dust, pet dander and dirt that has accumulated throughout the past year.

Investing in a respirator mask and some hypoallergenic cleaning supplies can ensure you aren’t worsening your symptoms while fixing up your home.

Then, once you’re ready to start cleaning, you may want to consider some of these tips for tending to your bathroom:

Get rid of those old, worn out towels – An article in The Huffington Post suggests donating these towels to a local animal shelter. Not only will you have fewer old linens to deal with, but you’ll be doing something good for furry friends in need.

Scrub, scrub scrub – While you’ve probably been cleaning your bathroom on a regular basis, this is the perfect time to really focus on making some of those problem areas shine. You may get dirty while you’re doing it, but it will be worth it in the end when toilet and tub are sparkling clean.

Wipe down the inside of closets and cabinets – Take everything out and clean the shelves thoroughly. This can also help you identify and remove medicine that has expired and other items that you no longer need.
